This story actually makes a pretty good case for Open Theism besides all the angles one could approach it from - from time and place, the harsh realities of life, coincidence, miracles, help from unexpected sources, what it means to have a good, responsible court system, hope, love, charity, benevolence.... the list is endless. But rather than preach or ruin the story let's just focus on what the story means to you.
